We were told to use a skeleton as inspiration. I wasn’t fond of this for I’m not too into the darker type of art. Although that didn’t stop me from making something that pulled my style into an element of art that I’m not the greatest in. so I thought about how I was going to make something dark into something bright and comical. I chose a group of bright colors that still associated with Halloween. I used pens because I am most comfortable with them rather than paint or pastels. I started with pencil and did pen over it. I made a sketch of where I would place a shadow with green and sketched where I would leave a whit line on the hat. i loved how everything was coming together and I felt that it was going to turn out to be one of my favorite peace’s I’ve ever done. However I had my doubts when I spilled hot chocolate on the chin. I had no idea what I was going to do to fix it and restarting was not an option. My original idea didn’t involve the yellow as a base but I found it covered up the hot chocolate just enough to be unnoticeable to the eye. It still bothers me and if I were to do it again. However, I do have to thank that accident for happening because I think the yellow is a nice touch to the peace. Although it does bother me that the stain is there I still really like this peace and I would definitely qualify it as a total success.
